Bikini model & posing champion advice for new fitness sports and bikini models

Coming into her 3rd season competing I asked posing champion Sarah Savio what advice she would give to a brand new fitness and bikini competitor ??? here are her words of wisdom & inspiration ??
“Arrrr! This is a fun, exciting, daunting, scary time that you can’t 100% prepare for.
When people say ‘trust the process’ it’s true! Everything falls into place.
I cannot stress enough that standing on stage for the first time is not about winning, it’s about learning from the experience and realising what you want out of your body or even the next time you stand on stage.
My advice for any novice competitor is:
– Don’t compare, I did this during my first season and found myself breaking down in tears with Nat 2 weeks out because I didn’t look like the other girls. The words of wisdom she gave me were: ‘don’t worry about what everybody else looks like, be the best version of you on stage’ now… I live with this quote every day.
– Be organised, I have my bikini maker, posing coach, makeup artist, hair dresser, coach and tanner all within a 1 hour radius, 48 hours out from the show you will be stressed. Make everything as convenient as possible.
– Find your comp buddy, I was lucky enough to come across my beautiful ‘comp rock’ Aunge in Season B – having someone to talk to about the pressure, worries and doubts of competition prep made the whole process easier, I never once felt alone!
– Be posing ready, Nat is a god, spend the time going to the workshops and having private sessions to work on the things that you are not 100% comfortable with. Make yourself feel comfortable at the rehearsals Nat holds prior to competition (this I believe is the reason I am comfortable on stage!). When Training with Aunge we would pose after our session, usually in the middle of the gym regardless of how many people were around!
– And my last tip…. BE PROUD! It takes a special someone to stand on stage in 4 bits of material in front of hundreds of people. Own it like you are on the Victoria Secret stage… ”
