Bikini & Fitness Model Posing & Body Positioning
With all my talk of upper body positioning lately i thought I would post a basic video on one of the exercises that I take my clients through to really help open their back and create symmetry and the illusion of a smaller waist line!
This is only one of many exercises that I take my clients through. I have found from working with many fitness and bikini models everybodys physique is different and they also learn completely differently so if this exercise doesn’t work for you then maybe another one I have will help you to really engage the muscles you need to and bring more mind muscle connection to opening up your back.
As I say to my clients it’s just like learning to walk your building up the neurological pathway from your mind to your muscle to learn what to switch on and off and open your back correctly to executed your back pose. Just like learning to walk this takes time patience and practice.
Learning correct upper body positioning and mind muscle connection is one of the hardest tasks to master. That’s why I start to introduce it in the first session with my posing clients by:
✔️ Teaching them judging criteria
✔️ Helping them to understand symmetry
✔️ Giving them homework and exercises to do away from our session to keep developing their upper body positioning
✔️ Working out the best way for them individually to switch on and off what muscles they need to to create a the shapes the judges want to see on stage a bikini or fitness competitor
