56kg vs 56kg – why the number of the scales doesn’t determine your success when your lifting weights?? It’s an unrelating, never ending dedication to self growth ?? Can’t wait to see what I look like and what weight I am in July this year and compare to this post ?????? Bring on the next few weeks of gains!
#repost 56kg vs 56kg – Why the number of the scales doesn’t determine your success when your lifting weights?? I was hesitant to put these photos up but the I remember that quote: “never be ashamed of your story- it will inspire others!” ????? This is me March 2013 at the beginning of my bikini modelling career VS July 2015 both weighing 56kg.
Why the number on the scales should never determine your success – I’ll admit im still learning to try and believe this but the more measuring tools i can use the more focused i am everyday to choose behaviours to reach my goal and feel successful rather than relying on that number. Feeling successful for me leads to a continued pattern of successful behaviours. Each day I focus on the behaviours i can achieve with every decision I make that will lead me towards my goal.
And the best thing is you have the choice of what to focus on! And (in the words of Anthony Robbins) “whatever we focus on, our thinking will back that up!” So ask yourself – How do you judge your success?
For me I’m learning to judge my success by progression, progression not only with the number on the scales but through;
✅ Training -Reps, sets, weight, PBS,
✅ Nutrition
✅ Personal Development (for me this is listening to fitness behaviour podcasts and listening to audio books)
I believe that self assessment is all aspects of your training is important – Rather than just depending on the number on the scales ask yourself these questions:
✅ Do I feel leaner?
✅ Do I look leaner?
✅ How is my sleep?
✅ How is my strength?
✅ How is my mind set?
✅ What barriers have I come across this week that may have prevented me from achieving my weekly goals? & what have i learnt from that?
✅ What has helped me to achieve my goals this week? Acknowledge this and continue it into the next week for on going success
Accept where you are and take on the responsibility that you will take yourself where you need to go! ??
