Before & After Learning Lat Activation

Hand placement & lat activation work together to create the perfect pose on stage.

??‍♀️ Where do you put your hands when your posing?

One of the very first questions I always get asked from novice competitors is “where do I put my hands when I’m standing in my poses?” The question should really be “how are my shoulders best position where my hands are placed on my body?”

Featured in my photo is Icn ICompete Natural Australia Bikini First Timer @nataliee_turnour session 1 (no hands on vs session 4 (with hands on after developing mind muscle connection through lat activation). Within these 4 sessions she has committed to my lat activation exercises & attended my lat activation class with @emmanickholds. Through this has developed more mind muscle connection through her lats & delts to position her upper body to hit her lines correctly to score highly on stage.

As a bikini and fitness model and also in bodybuilding divisions you are judged on symmetry so if having your hand in a certain place on your body throws out the symmetry of your shoulders for example then the hand need to moved or removed.

Always think about what the most important things you are getting judged on on stage. The judges aren’t judging you on where your hand is placed rather more importantly they are looking at how your shoulders are positioned and do they look symmetrical.

In my Posing packages I work with my clients to help them understand judging criteria and provide them with exercises to execute perfect symmetry throughout all their posing no matter where their hands are placed on the body or even if they are.
