Featured in my video is ICN Fitness Model Shelley in our session yesterday where I took her through one of my many exercises on upper body positioning and how to execute a strong back pose.
Knowing the difference with how to open your back correctly and position your lats and shoulders in a back pose means bringing symmetry to your legs and lower body – perfect symmetry when you’re posing equals scoring highly on stage no matter what division your enter!
THE ART OF UPPER BODY POSITIONING & BACK POSE
This video highlight the muscles of the latissimus group, which extend from the lower back to the sides of the torso. Being able to open your back will narrow the waist (as seen in the picture comparisons) and bring symmetry in line from top to bottom in a fitness and bikini competitor.
To learn upper body positioning correctly I work with my clients to identify:
– The easiest way for them to open their back
– Where her arms needed to be positioned to enhance the width of their lats
– How to relax the trapezius in order to enhance the deltoids (shoulders)
